How do I get help with problems when after creating a very detailed post asking for help and giving details on what I have done when I'm told it's spam? and how is that spam?

PS I think this is more likely to been seen as spam, but it seems there are no other options.

Original Post
I'm trying to upgrade from MyMcAdmin2 to AMP on a server I have that is running Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2. AMP seems to have installed correctly, but when trying to create a new instance using the gui after I paste the key into the box it just hangs.

Windows is up to date. The Server also runs Windows Deployment Services.

If I try to create a new instance using the command line I get. Part of the key has been removed. D:\AMP>InstanceManagerCLI.exe CreateInstance Minecraft RandomGamers 192.168.0.73 1234 8e2697ae-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-7ce556cc2945 Password123 +MinecraftModule.Minecraft.PortNumber 25565 +MinecraftModule.Limits.MaxPlayers 6 +MinecraftModule.Java.MaxHeapSizeMB 4096
[Info] AMP Instance Manager v1.4.4.0

[Info] Waiting...
[Error] Create aborted. Unable to verify licence details: One or more errors occurred.
[Error] An error occurred while making the HTTP request to https://auth.cubecoders.com/Service.svc. This could be due to the fact that the server certificate is not configured properly with HTTP.SYS in the HTTPS case. This could also be ca used by a mismatch of the security binding between the client and the server.
[Error] Please wait a moment and try again.

How is asking for help spam, and what do I need to do to resolve this issue?

I guess I'm stuck using McMyAdmin2, but at least that works on the server with my license key.

The spam filter is being fairly harsh on people right now, new users can't post URLs - it's just running on Akismet.

What happens if you use the GUI instance manager instead?

Also I'd recommend hopping in the discord server.

The GUI gets stuck showing a blue circle spinning. There are no messages, and I have been unable to find any logs to look at for more possible error details. So far I have not seen anything useful in the event viewer.

If you visit https://manage.cubecoders.com/ in Internet Explorer (do not use a different browser for this!) on the server - do you get any certificate errors?

aDigitalPhantom posted this 13 March 2017

There are no errors.

Is the instance running as a service or standalone?

I can't create an AMP instance because of the key problem. When the instance is made it will run as a service.

https://s2.postimg.org/ae5qgc1nd/amp.png Is all I get from the GUI. It will stay on that screen with the animation playing as long as the instance manager is open.

This is how https://manage.cubecoders.com/ displays in Internet Explorer on the server. https://s7.postimg.org/giy62etfv/amp2.png

As a sanity check, do you have another Windows machine (even a local one would do) that you can verify the behaviour on? I can't currently reproduce this under Server 2012 R2.

It seems to work on my Desktop, but installing won't allow it to work the way I need it to.

Are any versions of TLS disabled in your servers policy?

aDigitalPhantom posted this 14 March 2017

Not that I know of, but I'll check. How does McMyAdmin2 operate differently that allows it to work, but not AMP?

Mike posted this 14 March 2017

That's the weird bit - they don't. MCMA2 and AMP/3 both use the exact same licencing system.

aDigitalPhantom posted this 14 March 2017 - Last edited 14 March 2017

I think there is more to this then the licensing system. When I installed McMyAdmin2 I installed it as a service, but for that service to work correctly I had to edit the service to use an account made for it in Active Directory Users and Groups. I have not yet had any luck running the AMP Instance Manager as that user, and from what I can see it does not like being run as admin.

Thanks for the help, but until billing/accounts is willing to resolve an issue there I can't move forward here.

Have you done as the install instructions advised and created a new user with admin rights (rather than the Administrator user itself) and used that to install AMP? This is doubly important on Windows Server because of how UAC behaves.

Yes I have created a new user with admin rights that is not the built in "Administrator" account, and that is the account I use to install all software or manage the server itself. Yes this user was the user that was used to Install AMP.

I will just keep using McMyAdmin2 until I'm no longer able to use it, and at that point I will need to switch to software that works. The issues have not been fixed or resolved, but I can see they will not be.

With the poor support for accounts, and software I won't be buying anything from CubeCoders in the future.

I'm completely unable to reproduce this issue, are you able to get the same issue on another S2012R2 system?

aDigitalPhantom posted this 15 March 2017

I only have one system running Windows Server 2012. I have two Servers that are on 24/7. One is Windows Server 2012, and the other is a Linux File Server. Because of the OS the Linux Server will not work. The goal is to have both Minecraft and ARK game server running on Windows Server 2012.

Just been taking a look at this - does your server have multiple network interfaces (either physical or virtual)?

aDigitalPhantom posted this 17 March 2017

There was a virtual Interface added by VirtualBox that has been removed, and one physical adapter.
